DESCRIPTION:Book Course\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n\n\nDay 1: 23 Nov 2023 | 09:00am – 05:00pm\nDay 2: 24 Nov 2023 | 09:00am – 05:00pm\nDay 3: 25 Nov 2023 | 09:00am – 05:00pm\n\n\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing. \nTo get started on the Rock Climbing Instructor qualification you need to meet the following prerequisites:You must be at least 18 years old.You should be an experienced indoor and outdoor rock climber.You should have a genuine interest in climbing and the supervision of groups.You must be a member of a mountaineering council: BMC\, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland. \nBefore you book onto a Rock Climbing Instructor training course\, make sure you have done the following:You must be registered on the scheme.You must have an up to date logbook (preferably DLOG) with evidence of the following:15 led routes which must be graded rock climbs with traditional protection.15 led routes at a climbing wall.5 led routes which must be outdoor bolt protected sport climbs. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n\n\n \nWhat’s Covered\n\n\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					^\n					\n						Technical Competence (including equipment\, anchors\, belaying\, personal skills\, abseiling\, background knowledge)\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					^\n					\n						Management and Decision Making (including planning\, organising\, managing other staff\, managing participants\, knowledge and demonstration of techniques)\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					^\n					\n						Teaching Skills\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					^\n					\n						The Climbing Environment (including access\, conservation\, etiquette and ethics)\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n\n\n\nOutcomes\n\n\n\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						Candidates will have covered the syllabus which will allow them to consolidate their learning before completing an assessment course.
