Primary Activities

This information is meant as a "memory jogger" to help you when you are planning your visit and to give you some idea of the programme options available for primary age children at the Centre.
It is not meant to take the place of a detailed discussion with Humphrey Head staff who will design your course around the needs of your pupils using some of the following options:
- Gorge walking
- Woodlands
(Orienteering, sculpture trails, art work, shelter building, conservation issues, bivouacing (with suitable weather conditions)) - Mountain Walks
- Problem solving
task walks - Water activities
Raft building, open canoeing - Mines and Quarries
Tilberthwaite Slate quarries, Cathedral Cavern exploration - Orienteering
Centre grounds; Headland and Grizedale Forest - Climbing and Abseiling
- Headland scrambling
- Evening options - night line (winter months), evening/night walks
