Day 1: 05 October 2023 | 9:00am - 5:00pm Day2: 06 October 2023 | 9:00am - 5:00pm   The WorkSafe Outdoor First Aid programme is a programme of learning designed to meet with specific criteria of many outdoor organisations including: Mountain Training England (MTE), British Cycling (BC) and other similar organisations that stipulate a minimum criteria of subjects that candidates must cover. WorkSafe Outdoor First Aid is equally suitable for anyone who is involved with outdoor activities of any kind and is particularly suitable for those people working with, supervising or leading groups of people in the outdoors where attendance of emergency services may be delayed. Description The content of the programme also meets with the recommendations for Appointed Persons in the workplace under The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. These regulations are defined in the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (ACOP) document L74. The syllabus for WorkSafe Outdoor First Aid has been derived from criteria laid down by the above organisations and bodies and is also based on best practice from the industry. The DfE recommend that: ‘Schools should appoint an educational visits coordinator and make sure they have the training they need.’(Guidance: Health and safety on educational Visits, DfE, 2018). The course delivers core messages that develop the skills and expertise of the EVC ensuring that the planning, management and oversight of educational visits meets appropriate standards and links to the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
