A meaningful outdoor education adventure isn’t just about fun and games. It’s about weaving content into each adventurous activity that will benefit students when they’re back in the lecture room…and soon to be in the wider world.
The activities included in the Moorland Adviser programme supports A-Levels students in the following ways:
Revision
Focusing on revision can be challenging with many distractions ever present in the modern world, this programme is designed to get away from these. Revision time will be broken up with adventurous activity which will be used to help individuals have mental break but also further understand that achieving great outcomes can be challenging. Coming back refreshed and ready.
Personal Growth
The importance of personal growth during these tricky months when exams are looming is so important. Not only do students need to learn the importance of goal setting and staying focused, but also stepping out of their comfort zone. All of this can be done through outdoor activities. It acts as both an incentive and a distraction but also incorporates all of the skills they need to revise and get through their exams.
Social Skills
Social skills can be difficult when children become teenagers, they are so important to get through school as happy and confident individuals. During the programme we will work on these skills, and highlight the importance of working together and being supportive.
Environmental Awareness
The programme is based outside in our natural environment whether in the middle of a forest or on the water. It’s an opportunity for students to get away from the hustle and bustle of there normal lives and get closer to nature and learn about their natural environment.
