LOCATION

East Barnby.
This is a very sheltered water award and as such a suitable location will be chosen on the day.

DURATION

The course requires 2days training and assessment (15 hours contact time from the course leader).

SUITABILITY

It doesn’t matter if you Canoe, Kayak, Sit on Top Kayak, Stand Up Paddleboard, this course allows you to develop your existing skills and passion for paddlesport.

• It’s your journey, our highly experienced tutors are trained to support you throughout this practical course.
• Your course will support you to run games, activities to support learning and inspire adventure for new paddlers.
• This qualification is open to everyone over 14 years of age!

Whats Covered

How to effectively prepare a group for an activity (e.g. kitting up and getting afloat);

Together you will play with a range of activities to engage the group (e.g. games, tasks and journeys);

You will explore a range of motivating activities and games that support learning;

The tutors will support you to plan ways of using mini journeys to inspire adventure and exploration;

Outcomes

The course delivers core messages that develop the skills and expertise of the EVC ensuring that the planning, management and oversight of educational visits meets appropriate standards and links to the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Day 1: 20 Sept 2023 | 09:00am - 05:00pm Day 2: 22 Sept 2023 | 09:00am - 05:00pm The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking. Before you book onto a Lowland Leader training course, make sure you have done the following:You must be at least 17 years oldYou must be registered on the schemeYou must have recorded a minimum of 10 varied walks in Lowland terrain where the use of a map is required (ideally these will be recorded on DLOG) which can have taken place at any point (pre- or post-registration).      What's Covered Outcomes
