SUITABILITY
This course is aimed at those over 18 wanting to lead groups in hill and moorland terrain. Walkers should have at least one years experience of hill walking.

This qualification is ideal for walkers who want to learn the skills required for effective group leadership in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. Hill and Moorland Leaders operate in terrain that is generally more remote than that used by Lowland Leaders and not as steep or rocky as ground covered by Mountain Leaders.

The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking. Before you book onto a Lowland Leader training course, make sure you have done the following:You must be at least 17 years oldYou must be registered on the schemeYou must have recorded a minimum of 10 varied walks in Lowland terrain where the use of a map is required (ideally these will be recorded on DLOG) which can have taken place at any point (pre- or post-registration).  What's Covered Outcomes
