The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking. Before you book onto a Lowland Leader training course, make sure you have done the following:You must be at least 17 years oldYou must be registered on the schemeYou must have recorded a minimum of 10 varied walks in Lowland terrain where the use of a map is required (ideally these will be recorded on DLOG) which can have taken place at any point (pre- or post-registration).  What's Covered Outcomes
Forest School Level 3
East Barnby Outdoor Education CentreDay 1: 25 Sep 2023 09:00 - 5:00pm Day 2: 26 Sep 2023 09:00 - 5:00pm Day 3: 27 Sep 2023 09:00 - 5:00pm This modular training course provide delegates with a flexible approach to acquiring the competency to lead Forest Skills activities within their workplace setting. Delegates have the following booking options:1. Complete the full Forest Schools Level 3 training programme - 5 days2. Complete days 1-3 and receive a NYC Forest School Leader Accreditation3. Complete days 4 and 5 (Open Bladed Tools and Open Fires and Cooking). What's Covered  Outcomes Upon completion of this training course all delegates will have the skills required to lead forest school activities in their setting. Delegates wishing to gain the Level 3 Open Award will need to undergo a period of consolidation where they can practice skills learnt during training and prepare their portfolio of evidence.

The DfE recommend that: ‘Schools should appoint an educational visits coordinator and make sure they have the training they need.’(Guidance: Health and safety on educational Visits, DfE, 2018). The course delivers core messages that develop the skills and expertise of the EVC ensuring that the planning, management and oversight of educational visits meets appropriate standards and links to the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
